Work Specification
Remove and discard existing staff and parting beads
Remove excess paint from sashes and frames that could obstruct free movement of sashes
Check, clean and lubricate pulleys
Replace sash cords (6mm wax cotton cord)
Balance windows & weights to ensure they open and close correctly (old sash weights)
Align sashes
Improve side movement of sashes
Wax and refit top sash
Fit new parting bead with pre-installed brush seals
Fit weather seal to middle rail
Wax and refit bottom sash
Fit new staff beads with pre-installed brush seals – Adjust ensuring sashes are working freely
Paint any areas of bare wood with wood primer
As well as our traditional fitting of sash windows, we offer a sash removal system which allows easy removal and re-fitting of sashes for painting and general maintenance to be carried out from the inside without the need for expensive access equipment.
